The World Travel awards were created by World Media And Events Limited on 1992, and is located in London England.
Every year hospitality experts, most of them from the World Travel and Tourism Council, award hospitality companies. The categories include hotels, airlines, travel agencies, and rent-a-car companies.
This year (2019) the ceremony took place in Madeira Island, in the beginning of the month. Portugal was awarded 39 times, and for the third consecutive year The Best European Destination.
The city of Lisbon won: Europe’s Best City Break Destination.

Best Europe Beach Destination of 2019. (already five times winner: 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2017).
